Michigan History Day at North Shore Elementary School
The 4th and 5th grade students enjoyed a storytelling lecture by
well-known local historian Larry Massie as well as a visit from Tiller’s International, who provided outdoor education/entertainment with demonstrations of blacksmithing, rope-making and hands-on time with
the oxen team, Marco and Polo. Inside in the gymnasium, students were intrigued by local artisans who
demonstrated traditional crafts including weaving, spinning, quilting, knitting, felting, basketry and old-time
